Reverse osmosis (RO) uses a semi-permeable membrane to allow
fluid that is being purified to pass through, while rejecting
contaminants that remain. SAMCO RO systems use a process known
as crossflow to continually clean the membrane. As some of the
fluid passes through the membrane the rest continues downstream,
sweeping the reject away from the membrane surface.
RO is capable of rejecting bacteria, salts, sugars, proteins,
particles, dyes, organics (based on weight) and other
constituents. Care must be taken in the selection of the
appropriate membrane for a given application and the proper
pretreatment of liquid feed to the membrane. |
