Water is called "hard" water if it contains significant
amounts of calcium, magnesium or other ions that leave a hard
scale on surfaces. Hard water scaling can be minimized using a
water softener. Water softeners contain cation exchange resins
with sodium-filled reaction sites that exchange hardness for
sodium as hard water flows through the softener. When most of
the sodium has been consumed, the resin is considered exhausted
and must be regenerated with a brine solution to continue
softening.
SAMCO's Water Softener Systems (SOF) are available complete
with all necessary piping controls and automation skid mounted
to minimize maintenance and space requirements. |
